An Essay About Do Kyung Soo
This post is dedicated to a special person that inspires me by being himself,
To Idol, Actor, Human Do Kyung Soo
I knew him as a part of Korean Idol Group EXO. I knew him as an Actor that acted in the Drama '100 Days My Prince'. My first time watching him as an actor was in the movie 'Along With the Gods'.
There is something strange that drawn me to him. In my eyes, he just don't look like a typical K Pop Idol - fancy stage costume, colorful hair. He looks just like an ordinary person. Just like one of us. Just like human.
However, when he is on stage singing, he become the charismatic Idol D.O. that people know. When he act, the 'ordinariness' in him makes the character that he play feels like come to live.
I don't know him personally. I only learn about him through what my eyes can see from the media, and there's sure a lot things that I won't know as life on and off camera are different.
As I learning more about him, he become some kind of inspiration for me. Although the road that we take are different, the way he works hard for the things that he loves motivate me to do the same. Being consistent, moving step by step, and showing qualities by the work itself, is what I want to do, just like what he did.
Maybe I will never know him as a person (or maybe I will). I will take the good sides of him (that I perceived during my time learning about him) to be my source of strength in moving forward to achieve my dream.
(His song 'That's Okay' is also giving me comfort on the hard times. I hope that my work will also be a comfort for someone's)
Dear Do Kyung Soo,
In the future, on a good day, I hope we can meet and collaborate on a project. Stay healthy, stay happy, and keep being Do Kyung Soo.
Sincerely,
The one who want to meet you
